How We Make Money

We believe transparency about funding is important, especially on a site that provides safety-related recommendations. Here is how ExpireGuide is funded.

Current Status

As of March 2026, ExpireGuide does not generate revenue. The site is new, and our current focus is on building comprehensive, well-sourced content and useful tools. We are funding the site out of pocket.

Future Plans

As the site grows, we plan to apply for display advertising through Mediavine, a premium ad management service. If approved, you will see display ads on the site. These ads will appear around content, never inside the tools themselves. The tool experience is designed to be useful first, and we will not compromise it with intrusive advertising.

We may also add affiliate links in the "Replacement Recommendations" section of individual item pages in the future. If we do, these links will be clearly disclosed, and our recommendations will always prioritize what features and certifications matter, not which product pays us the highest commission.

What We Do Not Do

We do not accept payment from manufacturers to recommend their products. We do not adjust replacement timelines to encourage more frequent purchases. We do not gate any content or tools behind paywalls, email signups, or account creation. All information and tools on ExpireGuide are free and will remain free.

Our Promise

Revenue will never influence our recommendations. Our replacement timelines come from government agencies and manufacturer specifications, not from business relationships. If we ever add affiliate links, removing them would not change a single word of our recommendations.
