Enter install or purchase dates for items in your home, car, and life. The tracker shows you what needs replacing now, what's coming up soon, and what's still in good shape. Your data is saved in your browser and never leaves your device.

How the Tracker Works

Select an item from the dropdown and enter the date you installed or purchased it. The tracker calculates how much lifespan remains based on manufacturer recommendations and government safety guidelines.

Items are color-coded for quick scanning. A green indicator means the item is within its expected lifespan. Amber means the item has used more than 80% of its lifespan and should be on your replacement shopping list. Red means the item is past its recommended replacement date.

All replacement timelines are sourced from CPSC, NFPA, FDA, EPA, or manufacturer specifications. For exact timelines and warning signs for any item, click the item name to visit its dedicated page.

Your data is stored locally in your web browser. Nothing is uploaded or shared. You can bookmark this page and return anytime to check your timeline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. All data is stored locally in your web browser using localStorage. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your item dates never leave your device. If you clear your browser data, your tracked items will be removed.

Timelines are based on standard recommendations from government agencies (CPSC, NFPA, FDA) and manufacturer specifications. Actual lifespan varies based on usage, maintenance, climate, and other factors. Use these timelines as a starting point, and check the individual item pages for warning signs that might indicate earlier replacement is needed.

Currently, adding the same item again will update the install date for that item rather than creating a duplicate. If you have multiple units of the same item (such as smoke detectors in different rooms), the tracker will show the most recently entered date for that item type.
